MINISTRY OF CULTURE SUPPORTED MOST OF THE MEDIA FROM SOUTH SERBIA

Most of the media from the Pcinj district received the funds for the projects implemented in the field of information.

All the media outlets and organizations from South Serbia responded to the call for applications that was issued by the Ministry of Culture late last year. They applied with various projects that are mainly related to reporting in minority languages or to providing information to persons with disabilities.

As for the major media, Radio OK’s project "Culture, South Serbia’s Chance", which is worth around 400,000 dinars, was approved, while "Vranjske" weekly received almost 576, 000 dinars for the implementation of the project "Living Together".

Radio Television "Rhythm" from Vranje Spa will receive a total of 526. 000 dinars for two projects, "Living a Healthy Life-a Life without Drugs and Alcohol" and "The Journal of the Romani language".

Bujanovac weekly "New Serbian Wreath" received 240, 000 dinars for the project "Informing Citizens from the Serbian, Albanian and Roma Communities in the Pcinj District”.  

Radio "Ema" from Bujanovac was approved funds in the amount of 480, 000 dinars for two projects, "The Voice of Youth" and "The Lives that Can’t Be Seen".

Bujanovac was approved the funds for the projects implemented by the Center for Democracy and Education "Valley", the association "Attractive Vision",  the Albanian cultural association "Perspective" and the Roma Humanitarian Center, totaling 1,416, 000 dinars.

The only media outlet  from the Pcinj district that wasn’t approved funds in this competition is RTV Vranje.  

Also, the Ministry earmarked for this competition almost 91, 000, 000 dinars for the financing and co-financing of projects in the field of information.  

The deadline for the implementation of the approved projects is December 2014.
