MINISTER MALI: IMF GIVES THE GREEN LIGHT FOR THE INCREASE OF SALARIES

19. October 2020.

Belgrade Sinisa Mali, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Serbia, stated that the International Monetary Fund had given the green light for the increase of salaries in the public sector from January 1.

Minister Mali said for RTS that the increase would not be like the one the year before due to the corona virus crisis.

According to him, there would be increases in the private sector as well, because the minimum wage had also been increased.

Minister Mali said that they were waiting for the data on the revenues from VAT, which would arrive on the 15th day of the month, and according to the estimates, the revenues were two billion dinars higher than planned.

In a statement, which is to be published after the talks with the Government of Serbia, the International Monetary Fund will announce that Serbia will be the first in Europe in terms of GDP growth rate, Minister Mali says.
