The Ministry of Defense announced a competition for over 4,000 professional male and female soldiers for the Serbian Army in twenty or so places in Serbia. According to the wording of the competition posted on the Ministry of Defense’s website, the Ministry of Defense is looking for artillerymen, infantrymen, engineers and professional soldiers for the technical, transport and telecommunications corps.

The competition was also announced to fill the vacancies in artillery and missile units needed for air defense, as well as in river and armor units, and quartermaster, medical and construction corps. Apart from Belgrade, professional soldiers to be engaged for a definite period of time are needed in Vranje, Bujanovac, Kursumlija, Novi Sad, Zajecar, Nis, Pancevo, Sremska Mitrovica, Sabac etc. Most professional soldiers of various specialties are required in the Belgrade area, over 110 of them, as well as in the territory of Vranje, where over 80 professional soldiers are needed. The competition is open until January 15, 2013,   while interested persons are required to meet the general and specific requirements, including the requirement that they have no security issues preventing them from being engaged in the Serbian Army.
