"MILITARY DOCTORS IN RURAL AREAS" PROJECT IMPLEMENTED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MEDVEDJA

Medvedja – It was agreed at a joint meeting of representatives of the Army of Serbia and the local self-government that the "Military Doctors in Rural Areas" activity would be undertaken and the multinational village of Djulekare, which is situated in the municipality of Medvedja.  

The activity is scheduled for September 20, while the project is aimed at medically examining the residents of the village of Djulekare, as well as those of the surrounding villages.   

The agreement on the implementation of the project was reached at a meeting with Nebojsa Arsic, an internist and the Mayor of Medvedja. The meeting was, apart from members of the Third Training Center in Leskovac, attended by the competent persons from the Health Center in Medvedja, the Centre for Social Work, the Red Cross and by an agricultural advisor.

During the undertaking of the activity, it was planned for elderly care housekeepers to visit elderly households,  the Red Cross would hand out packages with food and hygiene products to the most vulnerable households, while the agricultural advisor, along with a military veterinarian, would visit rural households and provide appropriate technical and advisory assistance to them.
