MEETING WITH MINISTER OF EDUCATION HELD

A meeting between mayors of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja on the one side, and Zarko Obradovic, Minister of Education, on the other, was held in an atmosphere of constructiveness and openness. The meeting was initiated by Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, for the purpose of facilitating the understanding of major issues in the field of education in the said three municipalities.

Minister Markovic reiterated that the Coordination Body gave priority to the issues of education and investment in young people and added that the Coordination Body would work on them together with the Ministry of Education and other responsible institutions.

Minister Obradovic pointed out that the mayors of the three municipalities had the Ministry of Education as a partner and added that the Ministry of Education was willing to resolve all the issues in a constructive and an efficient manner.

The mayors of the three municipalities expressed satisfaction with the meeting with Minister Obradovic, during which they acquainted Minister Obradovic with the mayor problems in the sphere of education. The mayors of Bujanovac and Presevo laid a particular emphasis on the problems of the Albanian ethnic community.

It was decided at the meeting that all the problems would be solved by mutual agreement and that cooperation would be intensively extended until all the issues were resolved.
