MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION OF JABLANICA HUNTING DISTRICT HELD IN MEDVEDJA

10. November 2017.

Medvedja - Dragan Sormaz, the Head of the Hunting Association of Serbia, attended the meeting of the Association of the Jablanica Hunting District, which was held in Sijarinska Spa.

The meeting of the Association of the Jablanica Hunting District was attended by the heads of hunting associations from Medvedja, Bojnik, Crna Trava, Vlasotince, Leskovac and other municipalities that belong to the aforementioned hunting region. The meeting was hosted by the hunting association from the municipality of Medvedja, and apart from Mile Gikic, the Head of the Association, the meeting was attended by Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja.

Participants in the meeting provided verbal support to amendments to the existing legislation, which made the work of hunting associations and hunters more difficult, or to the Law on Wildlife and Hunting and the related rules on weapons and ammunition. The hunters supported the activities of the Hunting Association of Serbia, so that legal and responsible gun holders could be spared the unnecessary costs when re-registering or acquiring new weapons. Also discussed was the establishment of the regional hunting association, but it was unanimously concluded that the hunters did not need it then, and that the association would decide on the matter once such a proposal was official sent to it. Hunters of the Jablanica hunting district expect that new solutions to the Law on Wildlife and Hunting will promote hunting as an activity that does not deserve to be on the margins of society.

The Jablanica hunting district is abundant in very beautiful and rich hunting grounds, which are divided into twelve shoots, with a total area of around 250 thousand hectares. These grounds are managed by the hunting associations in the district. There are also three separate hunting grounds in the territory of the district, which are managed by the public enterprise “Srbijasume”.
