MEASURES OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA FOR PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES

Vranje - A meeting with businessmen from the Pcinj District was organized in Vranje, at which the measures and mechanisms of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for facilitating the overcoming of the economic consequences caused by the COVID 19 virus pandemic were presented.

The meeting was attended by Dragan Stevanovic, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, Vesna Vucetic, the Director of the Sector for Risk Management and Risk Placements from the Development Fund of the Republic of Serbia, Dejan Vukotic, the Director General of the Export Insurance and Financing Agency, Slobodan Milenkovic, PhD, the Mayor of Vranje and Srecko Pejkovic, the Governor of the Pcinj administrative district.

On that occasion, Dragan Stevanovic, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, pointed out that the Government of the Republic of Serbia had started implementing measures to help the conducting of business operations of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

"Today's goal is to present to the businessmen of this region the measures related to the interventions of the Development Fund of the Republic of Serbia and commercial banks, along with a guarantee scheme, and of the Agency for Insurance and Financing of Exports. At the initiative of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, special attention and assistance will be provided to businessmen in South Serbia. At the level of Serbia, we have, so far, approved 617 loans from the Development Fund, a total value of which is 3,100,000,000.00 dinars. The total amount of funds for these purposes is 24 billion dinars, and the realization deadline is December 20, "State Secretary Stevanovic said.

State Secretary Stevanovic also said that the implementation of new packages of measures, which referred to catering, hotel management and passenger traffic, would begin the following week.  

Vesna Vucetic from the Development Fund of the Republic of Serbia pointed out that the credit line adopted by the state, as one of the measures to help entrepreneurs, was currently the most favorable one in Serbia and that people were greatly interested in it. The measures are intended for all companies and everyone can apply for them, starting from entrepreneurs to medium-sized companies. The maximum loan amount for entrepreneurs and micro companies is 10 million dinars, while it is 120 million dinars for small and medium-sized companies, with an interest rate of 1%.

Dejan Vukotic, the Director General of the Agency for Insurance and Financing of Exports, also addressed the audience. He talked about the Agency’s support measures in terms of providing assistance to the companies to return to foreign markets.
