LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT IN PRESEVO REPLACED, ARDITA SINANI THE NEW MAYOR OF PRESEVO

Presevo - The new Mayor of Presevo is Ardita Sinani, an official of the Party for Democratic Action (PDA), which is led by Riza Halimi.

As of Friday, March 10, the new President of the Municipal Assembly of Presevo is Sami Salihu, a teacher from the village of Oraovica, who is the Head of the DPA Group, which is a breakaway wing of the Democratic Party of Albanians (DPA), which is led by Ragmi Mustafa.

The two most important decisions were reached by the majority of 22 aldermen from the PDA (10), the DPA Group (9), the Democratic Union of the Valley (2) and the Democratic Union of Albanians (1) at a session of the local Parliament, which commenced at 2 pm on Friday, March 10. The session was not attended by councilors from the Alternative for Change (AFC), which is led by the former Mayor Sciprim Arifi, nor by those from the minority DPA wing, which is led by the former Mayor Ragmi Musatfa.

Following the April local elections, the local self-government in Presevo consisted of 11 aldermen from Sciprim Arifi’s Alternative for Change (AFC) and 10 aldermen from Riza Halimi’s Party for Democratic Action

Shortly before the beginning of the session of the Parliament, at which he was replaced, Mr. Arifi held a press conference.
