LIMITED GATHERING OF PEOPLE AND OPERATION OF CATERING FACILITIES IN LESKOVAC AND MEDVEDJA

Leskovac, Меdvedja - Although upon the worsening of the epidemiological situation in South  Serbia, Leskovac was the first city  to take concrete measures to prevent the spread of the corona virus, such as the obligatory wearing of facial masks indoors, the City’s Emergency Staff adopted new measures. Catering facilities will be open until 11 pm, gatherings are limited, and masks are mandatory in public and taxi transport. The same measures were adopted by the competent Emergency Staff of the municipality of Medvedja.

There has been an increase in the number of people suffering from Covid-19 in South Serbia for ten days now, and Leskovac was the first to reintroduce the measures. However, due to the bad epidemiological situation, the City’s Satff for Emergency Situations met again.

It was decided to limit the operation of catering facilities, that employees must wear masks, as well as the guests when entering and leaving the premises and using the toilets. Compliance with the prescribed measures would be controlled by the competent inspections.

Discos can only operate in a static mode - guests can be at the tables, while dancing and standing at the tables is prohibited. The number of people who can stay indoors is 100, while the number of those staying outdoors is 500, including compliance with the measure of physical distance and the use of a protective masks.

The recommendation of the Institute of Public Health is to postpone all gatherings and ceremonies in educational institutions for 2 weeks, as well as weddings, baptisms, parties and other celebrations with a larger number of participants.

Spa and wellness centers will be closed for 2 weeks, too, as well as indoor pools, while the operation of beauty and hairdressing salons, fitness centers and gyms will be organized if all protection measures are fully implemented.

It is recommended that protective facial masks be worn at the markets, and the obligation applies to all sellers, buyers and market employees. It is also recommended that a physical distance of 2 meters be maintained in parks, children's playgrounds and sports outdoor facilities, unless one is staying there with people from one’s family or joint household, according to the Emergency Staff.

Wearing protective masks is obligatory in public and taxi transport, while persons without masks are prohibited from entering public transport and taxi vehicles.

The implementation of the prescribed measures will be controlled by the Department for Inspection Affairs and the Department of Community Police of the City Administration of Leskovac.

The same measures are in force in the territory of the municipality of Medvedja and their implementation will be controlled by the local inspection.
