LECTURE ON MINE CLEARANCE HELD IN BUJANOVAC

Bujanovac – So far, the area of 2,153,807 m2 has been cleared of mines in the territory of Bujanovac municipality, where 50 pieces of mines and 1,349 pieces of unexploded ordnance have been found and destroyed.

The remaining area contaminated with mines is about 1,800,000 m2 large, according to the Mine Action Center.

For the purpose of getting acquainted with the suspected locations of unexploded ordnance, the work of the team for clearing the ground, mine destruction activities and medical assistance provided to the injured persons, a lecture was organized in Bujanovac by the Belgrade Mine Action Center, with the consent of the leadership of the Emergency Management Staff of the Municipality of Bujanovac.  

The lecture was attended by representatives of the local self-government, public companies and institutions founded by the municipality of Bujanovac, representatives of the Red Cross Bujanovac, the Forest Club, the Veterinary Station Bujanovac, the Hunting Association, as well as by representatives of the local communities.

Recently, there was a destruction of mines found during the implementaion of the Project for Demining a Part of the Transmission Line 1140/2 TS Bujanovac - TS Berivojce.

In the presence of representatives of the Mine Action Center, two anti-personnel mines (one PMA-1 and one PMA-2) were destroyed by representatives of the Emergency Sector.
