There are currently 220 people staying at a special rehabilitation hospital „Geyser“at Sijarinska Spa, which is situated near Medvedja, while the spa’s capacities may satisfy the wishes of another thirty or so people. Apart from health workers in Sijarinska Spa, tourist workers in the spa may also be pleased with the number of visitors this year.

It turned out that the spa’s visitors from previous years haven’t forgotten it this year, while the majority of them are from Belgrade, Nis, Leskovac and Vojvodina.

Sijarinska Spa is surrounded by untouched nature and is situated at the altitude of 520 meters. There are 18 thermal springs there, the water of which has curative properties and ranges from 32 to 72 degrees C.
Special attractions of Sijarinska Spa include geysers of warm water, which are unique in Europe and which go as high as eight meters in the sky. A complex of small pools has been constructed in the vicinity.

The Serbian Orthodox Church recently sold 50 acres of land to Russian investors, who intend to build a hotel there. „That will mark a new period in the history of spa tourism in the region,” said Slobodan Draskovic, Mayor of Medvedja.
