23. July 2009.

In regards with the opening of extended departments of the Nis Faculties of Law and Economics in Medvedja, the mayor of Medvedja Slobodan Draskovic said that the enrollment in the Medvedja Faculty would begin at the beginning of August, while the entrance exam would be organized at the beginning of September.

There are going to be two courses at the Faculty of Economics department in Medvedja, which include a course in customs and finance and a course in economics in tourism, while work is currently being done on organizing courses in Albanian as well.

- The majority of textbooks have been translated into Albanian, while we’re trying to have some of the courses in Albanian, too, or, at least at the beginning, classes will be simultaneously interpreted into Albanian – Mr. Draskovic said.

The premises that are 420m2 large have been provided for the classes.

Mr. Draskovic said that when it comes to enrollment, students from Medvedja, Bujanovac or Presevo will have priority, while it’s expected that students from other towns will get enrolled, too.

The extended departments of the Nis Faculties of Law and Economics will be located in a detached section of an elementary school, while only Nis University professors will be teaching there. The classes will be only in Serbian. However, if there are any Albanian freshmen interested in studying law, then simultaneous interpretation of law classes will be organized.
