JOINT EXERCISE OF THE ARMIES OF EIGHT STATES TAKES PLACE AT “JUG” ARMY BASE

Bujanovac – Military Attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Serbia, Col.​​Paul Brotzen, and representatives of the National Guard from the city of Ohio spoke yesterday with the Mayor of Bujanovac, Nagip Arifi, abot the upcoming multinational military exercise, which will be held at the Serbian army base "Jug". After the meeting,  Mr. Arifi said that members of the U.S. Army had informed him that that an international military exercise would be held  at the „Jug“ army base near Bujanovac, in which, apart from members of the Serbian Army and U.S. Marine Corps, the armed forces of six neighboring countries,  as well as  those of Azerbaijan, would be involved.  

"An International military exercise will be held in Bujanovac and that's what representatives of the U.S. Army spoke with me about, so that the civilian sector could be informed in a timely fashion.  About 80 soldiers from the U.S. Army, out  of whom 75 are American Marines and five are soldiers, probably high- ranking ones, from the Ohio National Guard, with which the Serbian Army is already cooperating, will participate in the military exercise", said Mr. Arifi.  

He said that 60 soldiers from the Serbian Army, 30 from Albania, 30 from Azerbaijan, 25 from Macedonia and Romania each, as well as members of the Armies of Slovenia and Croatia, would participate in the international military exercise.
