Ivica Dacic, Serbia’s Deputy Premier and Interior Affairs Minister, said during his yesterday’s visit to the village of Marovac, which is situated in the ground security zone, that the situation along the administrative line between Serbia and Kosovo and Metohija was stable. The Interior Affairs Minister pointed out that that it was in Serbia’s best interest to have peace and stability in the region for all citizens, regardless of their ethnic background. He also said that it was necessary to invest in the infrastructure of the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. He thanked members of the police and gendarmerie, as well as of Serbia’s army, who are deployed in the ground security zone, for the efforts made in ensuring peace and stability for all citizens. Mr. Dacic said that they were the key to stability in that region of Serbia and he also asked members of the police and gendarmerie to continue providing help to the population of this mostly inaccessible area with the meeting of their various needs.
