Information Sessions and Study Visit to the Basic Police Training Centre

10. November 2011.

During the latter part of 2011, it is anticipated that the Ministry of Interior will publish a call for applications for the enrolment of new candidates to the Basic Police Training Centre in Sremska Kamenica.

In an effort to encourage increased diversity within the police service, the Ministry of Interior and the OSCE Mission to Serbia are organizing an initiative to inform youth from the ethnic Albanian community about careers in the police service and encourage them to enrol as candidates to the Basic Police Training Centre. This initiative, made possible by a donation from the Government of Germany and in cooperation with the Government of Serbia’s Coordination Body for Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, will consist of three outreach sessions to promote the work of Basic Police Training Centre. We are inviting all interested youth to join the sessions which will take place on the following dates:

-  14 November 2011 at 16:00 in Centre for Culture in Medvedja

-  15 November 2011 at 16:00 in Centre for Culture in Presevo

-  16 November 2011 at 16:00 in Centre for Culture in Bujanovac

During the outreach sessions representatives of the Basic Police Training Centre, local police stations and the Coordination Body will present the work of the police and BPTC to the participants.

Following the outreach sessions, a select group of Albanian youth will be invited to participate in a study visit to the Basic Police Training Centre to learn more about the enrolment process and training programme. Study visit will be organized from 24 till 25 November 2011.

We would like to emphasise that the participation in the study visit in no way guarantees future acceptance to the police training programme.
