IN PRESEVO, SEVEN MIGRANTS WERE PREVENTED FROM CROSSING THE BORDER ILLEGALLY

Presevo - At the Presevo border crossing, customs officers, in cooperation with the police, prevented two attempts of a total of seven migrants to illegally cross the border while being hidden in trucks among loads of goods.

The first case was recorded on Wednesday at the entrance control point in a truck with Pancevo license plates, which was transporting insulation panels from Greece to Serbia.

At the top of the load of goods, in the space of about only 40 centimeters from the roof of the truck, lay three migrants from Afghanistan who, due to the impossibility to change their body position and lack of air, were not feeling well, the Customs Administration said in a statement.

Clandestine travellers were also discovered in a load of goods of an Aleksinac truck, which was transporting oranges from Greece to Serbia.

When the customs officers opened the trailer and removed the crates full of citrus fruit, they found four brothers, citizens of Syria, in the bunker.

From the beginning of the year to the end of November, the Customs Administration officials prevented 1,087 migrants from crossing the state border illegally, it was said in the statement.
