HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE YOUTH UMBRELLA ORGANIZATION OF SERBIA (YUOS)?

Any civic association or federation of associations that meets the requirements set out below can become a full member of the YUOS:

1. That it is registered in the Register of Associations of the Republic of Serbia that is kept by the Business Registers Agency (enclose an abstract from the Register),

2. That it has been registered for at least 4 years (enclose a photocopy of the first decision on being entered into the Register),

3. That it is organized in accordance with democratic principles and doesn’t promote any form of discrimination, intolerance or violence (enclose the Statute, Rules of Procedure),

4. That its program has been committed to working with young people for the past four years (enclose CV of the organization),

5. That young people are actively involved in the work of the organization (statement on youth involvement in the Managing Board or other bodies of the organization or in the implementation of projects and /or other relevant activities of the organization),

6. That the organization carries out its activities in at least 4 basic units of the local self-government - municipality (statement on territorial distribution),

7. That it has had the status of an associate member for a period of a year or between two regular sessions of the Assembly of YUOS.

Eligible to become an associate member is any civic association or federation of associations that meets the aforementioned requirements from 1 to 6 and which has existed for at least three years.

Associate members have only the right to speak and the right to participate in the activities of the Youth Umbrella Organization of Serbia, but not the right to vote, the right to nominate and the right to be elected to the YUOS bodies.

If your organization wants to join the YUOS, it needs to e-mail to office@koms.rs the following documents:

The filled-in questionnaire and the statement of intent, a copy of the decision on registration in the Register of Associations, a copy of the Statute and Rules of Procedure (if applicable) and a decision of the Assembly on accession to the YUOS.

Upon receiving the documentation, the Commission will consider your application and contact you. Please note that regardless of the date of filing the application, the organization can be formally accepted into the membership only at the first next session of the Annual Assembly of YUOS.
