"HEART FOR CHILDREN" ASSOCIATION ESTABLISHED IN MEDVEDJA

Medvedja – A meeting in connetion with the establishment of the „Heart for Children“ association was held im Medvedja. The association was established with the aim of improving the position of children and youth with disabilities in physical and intellectual development, as well as providing professional support to their parents and families.

At the meeting, the five-item agenda was unanimously adopted, which, inter alia, included the adoption of laws on the establishment of the association, the election of the Chairperson and determining his/her tasks and goals.

“By the establishment of the association, the parents of children with disabilities wanted to draw attention to themselves, because they could not exercise some of their rights for a long time and were overshadowed in that small town," said Radmila Milojković, the Chairperson of the association, and added:

"Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, and the local self-government provided great support to the establishment of the “Heart for Children” association. They also promised that they would provide support to the children with disabilities and their families."

The Association currently has 15 members, but the figure is variable because the founders of the association are aimed at popularizing the issue at the local level, as well as engaging as many community members as possible. The next meeting of the association will be dedicated to the opening of the center for children with disabilities and to their problems.
