Bujanovac - A police officer from the village of Spancevac, who was in a very serious condition and who, therefore, called the Bujanovac Emergency Service on July 1, was transferred to the Clinical Center in Nis due to a serious suspicion that he was infected with the corona virus.

Apart from the above-mentioned patient, the Emergency Service had to deal with another case with symptoms of Covid-19 during the evening of Jul 1, and that was an elderly woman, who is also from the Klenike area, who was transported to the Vranje hospital.

A source from the Bujanovac Health Center says that “a large number of people with symptoms of the corona virus come daily to the Covid clinic and the Emergency Room."

“The Klenike area is especially endangered. I know for sure that over the past week, four people from that part of the municipality of Bujanovac ended up on  respirators in the Clinical Center in Nis ", says the interlocutor from the Emergency Service.

He underscores that the Health Center does not lack medical staff or protective equipment, but that the testing procedure, especially the isolation procedure, which are under the competence of the Epidemiological Service of the Institute of Public Health in Vranje, make the already difficult fight against the epidemic even more difficult.

“Family members of a patient who is positive for the corona virus are not tested nor told to be isolated. Mostly serological tests or quick tests, as they are called, are done, which are completely unreliable. We get PCR tests, where the possibility of error is much smaller, in insufficient quantities, so that a very small number of people are tested by them," he says.

According to the latest official data, 28 cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Bujanovac since the beginning of the epidemic, three of which died.

Three days ago, the Health Center confirmed that three more people were infected with the corona virus.
