GOVERNMENT PROMISED SUPPORT TO BUJANOVAC AND MEDVEDJA

8. April 2011.

Bujanovac – Verica Kalanovic, Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister, said in Bujanovac that that municipality was suitable for foreign investments because it was situated next to Corridor 10. Following the meeting with Saip Kamberi, President of the Municipality of Bujanovac, and Natasa Filic, President of the Municipal Assembly of Medvedja, Ms. Kalanovic said that it had been agreed to submit a list of plots of land that were free for foreign investments in industry to the Agency for Foreign Investments as soon as possible.

“Small and medium-sized companies in Bujanovac and Medvedja can’t apply for stimulation credits because they don’t have legalized facilities. We are going to have talks on resolving this issue at the Ministry for Spatial Planning,” Ms. Kalanovic said.

Ms. Kalanovic also said that “the third route for improving the economic situation in the municipalities of Bujanovac and Medvedja will, this year, be directed through public works to unqualified persons or to those who are older than 50.” She stated that she would use her influence so that the municipalities of Bujanovac, Presevo and Medvedja get from the National Employment Office additional funds for the opening of new working places.
