“GENERATION UNLIMITED” YOUTH CHALLENGE (DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 10, 2020)

9. January 2020.

A youth challenge, which is part of the “Generation Unlimited” initiative, arrives in Serbia! The UNICEF calls on young people to offer solutions that will help promote education, employability and civic activism. Sign up if you have some ideas about how to get problem solving started in your community and don't have enough resources to put those ideas into practice.

If you think you can contribute to solving the challenges in your environment that address one of the following questions, this is the call for you:

  • How can young people become more familiar with the labor market, and how can the business world recognize their potential?
  • How can young people in and out of school get more opportunities to develop their skills and further develop themselves?
  • How can all young people have equal access to development and employment opportunities?
  • How can young people be encouraged to proactively solve problems and participate actively in society?

The invitation is open to young people from all over Serbia. Teams can have 3 to 5 members. Each team member must be between 14 and 24 years old.

The UNICEF supports diversity and particularly encourages young people, who have not had the opportunity to participate in such activities, to sign up.

The application deadline is February 10, 2020.

The application form is available on  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeYDG861KWgRy29UAmA0HoeVH-_9PU4usVMCH7xB-8qzDhISw/viewform.

If you prefer, you can send the printed application, which is available on the aforementioned link,  to: UNICEF Serbia, Youth Program, Svetozara Markovica 58, 11000 Belgrade.

If you are unable to fill in the application form in the above-mentioned ways, please call 0644747827.

10 teams will be selected to participate in a design workshop in the period from February 27 to 29, where they will be developing their solutions. The top 5 teams will then receive $ 1,000 worth of financial support each and a three-month mentoring support for the project they designed.

Each team member must be present throughout the three days of the design workshop (February 27 to 29, 2020), as well as at the preparatory webinar that will precede the workshop (February 22, 2020).

Should a team be selected for financial support and mentoring, it will need to devote itself to developing and implementing the project until June 2020.

“Generation Unlimited“or  “GenU“ has been launched  by a youth challenge that is taking place in 40 countries around the world this year. The aim of this initiative is to empower young people to create solutions to the challenges in their environment and thus improve their skills, more easily cover the path from education to employment and become socially active. The challenge in Serbia is supported by the UNICEF and the UNDP, while it is being implemented by the "Razlivalište" organization and with the support of the Scout Alliance of Serbia.
