GENERAL DIKOVIC VISITED PARTICIPANTS OF THE “PLATINUM WOLF 15” MILITARY EXERCISE

The Serbian Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ljubisa Dikovic visited the participants of the exercise “Platinum Wolf 15” in the “Jug” base near Bujanovac and said that there was great interest in utilizing the capacities of the base for joint training of the Army of Serbia’s units and foreign armed forces.

General Diković added that the “Jug” military base, along with the Center for training the staff for atomic, biological and chemical defense in Krusevac, was a frequent topic of conversation with foreign military delegations.

The Commander of the Center for Training Units for Multinational Operations, Lieutenant Colonel Bratislav Vukotic, informed General Dikovic of the most important activities and plans of the unit and of the works performed in the “Jug” military base for the purpose of improving the infrastructure of the said base for accommodation and training.

That was followed by the presentation of non-lethal weapons used by the US Marine forces and special units of the military police, after which General Dikovic talked with participants of the exrecise about their impressions and observations about the exercise.

General Diković visited the exercise with the Commander of the Army Lieutenant-General Aleksandar Zivkovic, the Chief of the Training and Doctrine Command, Major General Goran Zekovic and the Commander of the Fourth Brigade of the Army Brigadier General Zoran Lubura.

About 360 members of the Army of Serbia, marines of the European Command of the Armed Forces of the United States, the armed forces of Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Croatia and the Gendarmerie of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Serbia were engaged in the “Platinum Wolf 15” military exercise.

“Platinum Wolf 15” is designed so that members of the armed forces of the participating countries, as part of their joint engagement, are trained to effectively use non-lethal weapons and to plan, prepare and execute various tasks in peacekeeping operations in the multinational environment.
