FOUNDATION STONE FOR THE INDUSTRIAL ZONE IN PRESEVO LAID

10. May 2018.

Presevo - Dragan Stevanovic, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, and Sciprim Arifi, the Mayor of Presevo, laid, yesterday, the foundation stone for the construction of roads equipped with complete infrastructure in the industrial zone in Presevo.

The project worth 28.8 million dinars is financed by the Ministry of Economy and the municipality of Presevo, of which the Ministry’s share is 14.22 million dinars, according to the Ministry’s statement.

The joint project of constructing infrastructure installations in the industrial zone, worth 12.5 million dinars, was completed in 2016, while the resumption of partnership investments was officially marked in the industrial zone in Presevo yesterday.

“Water, optics and electricity were brought to this area and thanks to those projects, Presevo will soon become attractive for investors, " State Sectetary Stevanovic said, adding that the Ministry would reconstruct the “Dituria” elementary school in the municipality, too.

The value of the project is 32 million dinars, of which the Ministry will provide more than 13 million dinars. Also, the Ministry will, with 2.5 million dinars, co-finance the preparation of technical documentation for the transfer station for solid waste.

"All those projects are," State Secretary Stevanovic said, "part of the policy of the Serbian government to seriously deal the southern part of the country."

“Our goal is that all municipalities in southern Serbia become more attractive to investors. We want to deal with a growing economy, "State Secretary Stevanovic said.

Mayor Arifi said that the previous day was a day of joy for the municipality, because the project of building the industrial zone had begun 11 years before.

“The decade-long odyssey for us ends today ... and now we can provide the economic perspectives to the young ", Mayor Arifi said.

"We can criticize everything, but we need to commend what is good and what affects the lives of our citizens," Mayor Arifi said.

Following the laying of the foundation stone, they visited the “Solid” factory, where around 200 people will be employed during the year.

The factory was opened in the hall that used to belong to a company that is currently in bankruptcy, while it is the result of joint efforts of the government and local self-government.
