FETISOV FOUNDATION JOURNALISM AWARD CONTEST, THE LARGEST PRIZE FUND IN THE HISTORY OF JOURNALISM (DEADLINE: OCTOBER 1, 2019)

19. September 2019.

The Geneva-based Fetisov Humanitarian Foundation launched an international competition for the Fetisov Journalism Awards (FJA).  The deadline for submitting applications is October 1, 2019.

The awards will be given to the most prominent journalists from around the world who contribute to the promotion of universal human values, as well as for the courage they have shown in working on their investigative stories.

According to the Fetisov Foundation, the award is unique because of the extremely high prize money for the best stories, which amounts to 520,000 Swiss francs.

Applicants over the age of 18 years, who should be nominated by representatives of registered news organizations (trade unions, associations, journalists' associations), may apply.

The journalistic stories, articles and reports applying for the competition must have been published in print or online media from June 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019.

The awards will be presented in four categories: for outstanding contributions to peace, civil rights, investigative journalism, as well as for the stories in the field of ecology and environmental protection. There will be three award winners in each category.
