“60 million dinars were, through the Coordination Body, earmarked from the budget of the Republic of Serbia for small and medium-sized companies in Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja,  but 51 million dinars were allocated because all of them hadn’t met  the requirements of the call for applications, nor had they submitted complete documentation”, Mr. Stankovic said.  The President of the Coordination Body underscored that the Government of Serbia’s program, through the Coordination Body, tried to assist the economic development of the municipalities, so that entrepreneurship in the area could become more competitive and employment increased.

He also said that the Coordination Body was carrying out an analysis of how the incentives for small and medium-sized companies in the three municipalities in South Serbia, which were granted through the previous calls for applications, had been used.

On that occasion, Nagip Arifi, the Mayor of Bujanovac, said that owing to the said incentives,  the municipality could improve economically. Slobodan Draskovic, the Mayor of Medvedja, thanked everyone who had worked on the call for applications and  selection of the enterprise from the municipality and pointed out that it meant a lot for the municipality itself. Ilir Sadriju, a representative of the municipality of Presevo, who was from the Local Economic Development Office, said that the economic program, which had been implemented, through the Coordination Body, for the third year in a row, had made a great contribution and made an increase in the number of employees possible, which was a very positive step.

Ramadani Ragmi, one of the recipients of subsidies, said that his company currently had 20 employees and pointed out that thanks to the incentives, he would increase the number of workers.

The incentives were received by 15 companies from Bujanovac, six from Presevo and one from the municipality of Medvedja.

The incentives program has been implemented in the three municipalities, through the calls of applications of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, since 2012.
