DIGITIZATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY OF BUJANOVAC

18. April 2019.

Bujanovac –  The project of digitization of the Bujanovac Assembly will be financed with 4.7 million dinars by the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, while the installation of the digital system will be completed in early June, it was stated by the Bujanovac Mayor’s Office.

The counting of raised hands during voting and the speaker’s pulpit in the Municipal Assembly will become history in June, because the establishment of a quorum and voting will be done through cards and electronic units, while the councilors will address the Municipal Assembly from their seats, as in the National Assembly of Serbia.

With the new statute, which is awaiting the approval of the line Ministry, the digitized system will, according to Rahim Salihi, the Head of Staff of the Mayor’s Office, also bring the immense debates to an end.

“In accordance with the new statute and through the digitized system, the President of the Municipal Assembly will be able to finally take away the word from the councilor, so that it will be impossible to have 20 or more minutes’ long talks or several hours’ long discussions before the adoption of the agenda," Mr. Salihi said.

As he said, digitization will turn the Municipal Assembly into a place where people work efficiently and where the time of both the councilors and citizens is respected.
