CUSTOMS OFFICERS DISCOVERED OVER 20 AFGHANS IN A FREIGHT TRAIN NEAR BUJANOVAC

Bujanovac - Customs officers at the Ristovac railway station, which is near Bujanovac, found 23 Afghan immigrants who had tried to illegally cross the Serbian state border in a freight train. 

The immigrants were attempting to reach Austria, which was the final destination of the train that was going from Greece to Hungary. The train arrived at the Ristovac railway station in the morning, while the customs officers started a detailed control of the train when they had noticed that the customs seal on it was damaged. During the inspection, they found that one of the 16 carriages of the freight train contained 23 people, of which 14 were men, five were women and four were children aged from 5 to13, all of them from Afghanistan. 

All passengers were then handed over to the police for further procedure.
