COORDINATION BODY’S OFFICE AWARDS 300 SCHOLARSHIPS TO SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

The Coordination Body’s Office of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja awarded scholarships to secondary school students from the three municipalities attending classes in the territory of Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja, Leskovac, Lebane and Vranje.

A total of 657 secondary school students applied for the call, while 300 scholarships in the amount of six thousand dinars per month were awarded. 116 scholarships were awarded in the municipality of Presevo, 124 in the municipality of Bujanovac and 60 in the municipality of Medvedja.  

The general requirements of the call were that students had the citizenship of the Republic of Serbia and residence in the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, that, in the 2018/2019 school year, they were enrolled for the first time in the first, second, third or fourth grade of some of the secondary schools founded by the decision of the Ministry of Education of the Republic Serbia, that they had very good or excellent school marks during their previous education and that they did not repeat any grades during their previous education.

The student scholarship selection commission included representatives of the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, who were appointed by the Mayors of the three municipalities, as well as four members of the Coordination Body’s Office.

The call for granting scholarships to secondary school students is one of the most important activities of the Coordination Body’s Office, by which assistance with the education of young people from the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja is provided.
