Bujanovac –  Out of 16 entrepreneurs who have been awarded grant contracts by the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, seven are from Bujanovac, and they will receive 19 million dinars to improve the business operations of their companies.

17 million dinars will be allocated for 7 companies from Presevo, while 3.8 million dinars will be given to two entrepreneurs from Medvedja.

Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body, said during the delivery of the contracts at the Cultural Center in Bujanovac that it was expected that those funds would provide the employment of 40 to 50 new workers.

"The businessmen who have received subsidies have committed themselves to employing new workers, while the creation of new jobs is what we strive for," Mr. Stankovic said.“

He underscored that from 2012 until 2018, the Coordination Body allocated 277 million dinars for economy grants, which resulted in the employment of 254 workers.

"I hope that these funds will help your businesses, that you will achieve much better results and that you will justify the trust shown," Mr. Stankovic told the entrepreneurs.

Saip Kamberi, the Mayor of Bujanovac, said that the Coordination Body’s subsidies were a valuable impetus for business development and that he, together with Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body, and his colleagues from Presevo and Medvedja, would earnestly advocate that the program be continued, since it was, as he put it, one of the best ways to invest in the future of that area.

“I am particularly pleased that Bujanovac's companies received a bit over 19 million dinars. I hope that these funds will be used for capacity building, as well as for job creation in the territory of our municipality, "Mr. Kamberi said.

Nebojsa Manasijevic, a representative of the Klenike-based Manasijevic Ltd. company, which manufactures construction joinery, said that a subsidy of 2.7 million dinars would be used to purchase the equipment.

“We currently have 7 employees, while the plan is to hire 3 to 4 new workers and increase our production. By awarding these grants, the Coordination Body, among other things, has an influence on staying of youth in the countryside, "Mr. Manasijevic said.

The "Bansek" craft shop from Bujanovac, which is a pellet manufacturer, will be financed with 3 million dinars, so that a new production line could be introduced.

"We will, in total, invest 5.5 million dinars in capacity building, and will also employ 5 new workers," said Ljiman Seljimi, the owner of the craft shop.

The businessmen will receive the funds in early December.
