CONSTRUCTION OF A BRIDGE OVER THE SOUTH MORAVA RIVER NEAR BUJANOVAC BEGAN

16. December 2016.

Bujanovac – The bridging of the South Morava River near the old, damaged bridge in the vicinity of the former "Jugokop" Company near Bujanovac has begun by placing the first horizontal reinforced concrete profiles on the previously constructed pillars.

Upon completion of works on the facility, which is being built as part of the international "Corridor 10" route, a road transportation link from Bujanovac to the settlements on the right bank of the South Morava River, which include   Zuzeljica, Ljiljance, Zbevac, Bujanovac Lake, Zeleznicka stanica, Bozinjevac and the neighboring villages, will be established on the section of the highway from Srpske kuce to Levosoj.

According to the statements issued by the competent authorities, the bridge should be opened for traffic by the middle of next year.

The old bridge, on the construction of which a depression emerged over two years ago, is not used for traffic, while pedestrians cross it at their own risk.

Transportation to the villages situated on the right bank of the river is conducted by means of alternative routes, via Zeleznicka stanica or the village of Davidovac, which is situated in the territory of the city of Vranje.

The new bridge will be an integral part of the future Corridor 10 overpass, which is being constructed, as well as of the existing railway track on that international route.
