As part of the program "Support to Local Self-Governments in Serbia on the Road to the EU - Second Phase", which is funded by the Government of Sweden, the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities - the Union of Towns and Municipalities of Serbia (SCTM), announced again this year a competition for best media contributions on the practice of local self-governments “Different from Others”, which is open to journalists from local, regional and national media from April 15 to October 15, 2019.

The themes of the competition are: EU integration, environmental protection, improving the business climate, emergency prevention and management, as well as gender equality and human rights at the local level. By announcing this call, the SCTM wants to highlight the importance and the role of local authorities in these areas, with a view to improving the quality of the services provided to the citizens.

A total of five prizes will be awarded as part of the "Different from Others" competition, while the authors of the best contributions will be awarded laptops.

An evaluation of the best media contributions will be made by an independent jury consisting of experienced editors of the leading editorial boards: Nada Gogic (RTS), Srdjan Boskovic (Radio Belgrade 1), Veselin Simonovic (Blic), Zoran Sekulic (Fonet) and Vladan Samardzic (Vecernje novosti).
