CLEANING THE JABLANICA RIVERBED ON WORLD WATER DAY

24. March 2017.

Мedvedja – The awareness about polluted rivers and waters, as well as the lack of drinking water, led graduates of the “Nikola Tesla” secondary technical school in Medvedja to organize the cleaning of the Jablanica riverbed on several locations.  Representatives of the local self-government in Medvedja and employees of the "Lece" mine participated in the activity, too.

The presentation called “Water- Key to Life on Earth and Clean Water as a Cure” was held at the assembly hall of the municipal building in Medvedja by Ivan Milosevic, a professional medical radiologist. He spoke of drinking water as a source of life, as well as of its abuse. He also pointed to the radioactivity of cell phones, microwave ovens, harmful effects of smoking, the consumption of coffee, soft drinks and other bad substances that shorten the life of a man of the modern age.

Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, thanked all the participants in the activity, as well as the students and the Director General of the “Lece” mine, for their thus-far cooperation and assistance.

Following the presentation, all participants in the campaign visited the “Lece” mine, where they were treated as guests.
