CERTIFICATES AWARDED TO THE STUDENTS OF THE SERBIAN LANGUAGE SCHOOL

26. June 2014.

Students of the Serbian Language School for youth from the Albanian community in the municipalities of Bujanovac and Presevo received certificates on the premises of the Bujanovac-based “Vuk Karadzic” community center.  The students from the two municipalities were presented the certificates by the President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja Professor Zoran Stankovic, the Head of the Social Affairs Department of the municipality of Bujanovac Bajram Fejzulahu, a member of the Albanian National Council Kujtim Ismaili, a teacher of Serbian Milica Djordjevic and  a teaching assistant for the Serbian language Nermine Aliu-Ademi.

On the occasion of awarding the certificates, Professor Stankovic encouraged young people from the Albanian community to continue improving the knowledge they had acquired and added that the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Coordination Body would make an effort to help young people from the area and ensure a better future for them. In the period from October 2013 to May 2014, young people from Bujanovac and Presevo diligently attended classes in the Serbian language, which were organized for them by the Coordination Body’s Office, with the support of the British Embassy.

They showed their knowledge at the tests that were organized over seven months, while the most recently organized one was this May, on the basis of which the certificates were awarded, which testify about their level of knowledge of the Serbian language. Upon completion of the Serbian language school, young Albanians from Presevo and Bujanovac can more easily use the opportunities offered to them, for which they need the knowledge of the Serbian language.

This is the second year that the Coordination Body’s Office, with the support of the British Embassy, organizes a free school of the Serbian language.
