CAMPAIGN FOR PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO COVID HOSPITALS: WE ARE ALL VRANJE

Bujanovac, Vranje – In order to provide assistance to medical workers and those suffering from the corona virus from the Pcinj district, people from the Center for Media Transparency and Social Responsibility launched a campaign for collecting medical equipment and the required necessities for better functioning of Covid hospitals and surgeries in Vranje, in which the Bujanovac News, too, participates.

The campaign under the slogan "Our City, Our People, Our Country" will last until next Friday, the South Serbia News portal reports.

The Association says that in two days, which is how long the campaign has lasted so far, many people who want to help have called and that the response exceeds their expectations.

“Until yesterday, 30 donors called, some of them gave money and some brought goods. The smallest amount paid into the account is 1,000 dinars, while the largest one is 100,000 dinars. So far, 190,000 dinars have been collected. There are many calls from the diaspora as well. There are young writers who donate or sell their books in order to help. The collected financial resources will be used for purchasing the necessary stuff in the city pharmacy, since the pharmacy gave up the margins in order to support the campaign ", says Jelena Marinković, the Association’s PR person.

The stuff necessary for a better operation of Covid hospitals and surgeries include non-contact thermometers, infusion and oxygen stands, medicine carts, temperature list holders, pillows and bed-linen, paper towels, liquid soap, food and laundry carts, metal utensils, protective masks and gloves, protective hoods and caps, half a liter bottled water and juices, tea bags, soup bags, washing powder…

“Any help is welcome and no donation is small. Only politics has no place in the campaign, as the intention is exclusively to help medical workers who risk their lives fighting Covid, as well as the patients from the entire Pcinj district who are fighting their battles at Covid hospitals. Whoever we turned to for help, people said “yes, we will help just because it's not politics”, and that sounds very good to us," Ms.Marinkovic says.
