Call for Youth Build IT Program!

DO YOU LIVE IN NOVI PAZAR, SJENICA, TUTIN, VRANJE, BUJANOVAC OR PRESEVO?

THIS CALL IS FOR YOU!

Get involved in the Youth Build program of Serbia and you'll learn how to design and maintain the web site, find a job or start your own business, thereby contributing to the development of your community.

We offer you learning, volunteering, gaining experience and a chance to do something useful for yourself and your community as part of a team of 30 young women. 

You can join us by completing the application form and mailing it to konkurs@gradjanske.org by July 10, 2015.

You'll be called for the introductory training in early July, after which the final selection of the program beneficiaries will be made.

NEVER HEARD OF THE YOUTH BUILD PROGRAM?

Take a walk around your neighborhood and get to know your male and female peers who  attended  the YouthBuild program in the previous years. They were daily trained on the topics of community work, communication skills and writing projects at the training centers in Novi Pazar and Bujanovac, while they simultaneously organized volunteer activities.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM?

Training young women to find or start their own business, become active in the community and contribute to its development.

MORE ON THE PROGRAM:

In the first stage of the program (July - August 2015) – through the course for the development of Web sites, project beneficiaries will acquire the skills required in the labor market, especially in the targeted municipalities, they will strengthen their position in the community and become an important resource for local organizations and institutions . The course will be held for 20 days (total of 40 training days, 20 in Bujanovac and 20 in Novi Pazar each), while eight training hours will be held during each training day.  Minimum 160 lessons will cover the following topics: the Internet as a Medium, Clients and Servers, Contemporary Trends in Technology, Web Design Elements (typography, photography, page layout, etc.), Programming Languages HTML5 and CSS3, Word Press etc.

The training will be provided by the professional "Tailor's School" - the winner of the most important domestic IT awards and recognitions, the beneficiaries of which are the authors of over 500 Web sites. The “Tailor's School” is an official Apple Regional Training Centre. Nearly 90 percent of beneficiaries of the Tailor’s School find work immediately upon completion of training or start their own business. The commercial price of the design and maintenance of web sites, which will be done by the “Tailor’s School”, is 150,000 dinars, whereas it’s free of charge for beneficiaries of the program.  

In the second stage of the program (September-October 2015), female beneficiaries of the project will be empowered to be independent and proactive, and will acquire the knowledge of local development, activism, local partnerships, youth participation, but also the knowledge on the connection between these issues and the individual empowerment of young people through improving their personal competencies and skills, especially in finding a job or starting their own business. Female beneficiaries will be familiarized with the process of EU integration and the role of youth in those processes, as well as with the topics relevant for this target group - human and minority rights, with a special focus on women's rights.

During the program, the beneficiaries will have the opportunity to develop web sites for public institutions, companies and non-profit organizations from their environment, which will help them present their skills and make it easier for them to find a job or to start their own business,  as well as carry out the activities aimed at improving local communities.

As part of the Program, study visits to the companies engaged in information technologies will be organized, as well as to the organizations that encourage civic activism and local community development.

Upon completion of the program, the beneficiaries will receive the certificates that they will be able to use when searching for a job, which will also testify of their capacity to improve their local community.
