CALL FOR THE JIRI DIENSTBIER JOURNALISTIC SCHOLARSHIP 2019/2020 (DEADLINE: JUNE 2, 2019)

The Jiri Dienstbeir scholarship is aimed at journalists from the countries of the Western Balkans.

The launch of this project was initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Radio Free Europe, inspired by the contribution of Jiri Dienstbier in the field of journalism, foreign policy and human rights.

The scholarship aims to inspire young reporters from the region to advance their profession through support to media pluralism and independence, while it refers to the period from November 18, 2019 to June 26, 2020. Scholars will first spend two weeks in one of the Radio Free Europe's offices in the region to get to know the functioning of the press, followed by six months in the editorial office of the Radio Free Europe in Prague, and then return to the editorial office in the region, where they will spend the last month.

The application deadline is June 2, 2019.
