CALL FOR STUDENTS' WORKS ON PHYSICS AND ASTRONOMY (DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1, 2019)

25. November 2019.

The Earth's inexhaustible wealth, microcosm physics, cosmology and gravitational waves are just some of the topics that elementary and secondary school students can write about in an original and interesting way and submit their works by December 1, 2019.

Students who apply for the call can do the chosen topic theoretically and experimentally (with an appropriate theoretical explanation) or by means of modeling the phenomenon (with theoretical explanation). Organizers say they will evaluate the original and creative approach to the topic, while those who apply will need to explore it deeply.

One student can apply for the competition or students can be in pairs, while they only have to choose one of the topics offered.

The first topic is "The Inexhaustible Wealth of the Planet Earth - the Law of Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy", where one should refer to the principles of operation of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, energy losses and the possibility of more efficient use of energy.

They can also choose the topics "Tiny but Not Irrelevant - Microcosm Physics", "Outside Our Cosmic Home - Astrophysics/Cosmology", as well as "The Same, Yet Different - Waves".

The authors will present their works during a presentation, which can take up to 10 minutes and should not be submitted when applying for the call. More information on the topics and on how to apply is available on https://enjoyphysics.com/prijava-za-konkurs/#page-content

The aim of the call is to awaken the exploratory spirit, curiosity and creativity of the students, while it is organized by "Nis Young Minds Section".  Students will defend their works on December 7, 2019 at the Faculty of Sciences in Nis, while the top three students will be awarded.
