Belgrade – As part of the program “Share Your Knowledge”, an open call for female mentoring beneficiaries has been issued for the ninth year in a row.  The program is jointly implemented by the US Embassy in Belgrade, the Erste Bank, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the European Movement in Serbia.

The young women who have a minimum of six months of relevant professional engagement (volunteering, internships, employment, etc.), who live and work in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, and those who need mentoring support, are invited to apply. The program provides special support to young female entrepreneurs in agriculture and Roma women.

“Share your knowledge "is a unique program that opens the opportunity for personal and professional development of women. It is based on the concept of mentoring and is aimed at building mutual support of women, through the sharing of knowledge and experience, the strengthening of solidarity, the promotion of good role models, networking and empowerment.

The goal of the program is professional and personal empowerment of women in our society, through the exchange of experiences and knowledge. It is guided by the idea that successful and professional women, leaders from different professions, share their knowledge and experience with young women with similar interests to contribute to providing the opportunities for young women to improve their careers, in order to achieve a positive step and set a sound basis for future long-term cooperation.

The mentoring model is developed in the world and is successfully implemented in all spheres of society, from science, through business, to politics. Taking into account our environment and social conditions, the model is adapted to the target group in Serbia. The process of Serbia's European integration is a process of institutional reform and of building a democratic and prosperous society, while empowered and successful women are one of the pillars of such a society.

By participating in the mentoring program, female mentoring beneficiaries get the opportunity to acquire networking skills and get the tips on how to further develop their careers and build self-confidence.

The program will be implemented in the period from January to November 2019. Meanwhile, the mentor and the selected female mentoring beneficiary will be in touch, exchange experiences and meet occasionally. Also, two round tables where all the participants in the program will exchange their opinions and experiences and discuss various topics, three workshops aimed at further strengthening and two public debates outside of Belgrade will be organized.  The events take place every last Saturday of the month (except in March – March 9), July (no events) and November (mentoring walk, which is traditionally organized in mid-November, while the participants in the program walking along a specific route, share knowledge and experiences and receive certificates).
