CALL FOR PROVIDING SUPPORT TO LOCAL SELF- GOVERNMENTS REGARDING THE OPERATION OF ADVISORY SERVICES FOR THE CITIZENS (DEADLINE: April 16, 2019)

25. March 2019.

A public call for providing support to local self-governments for the establishment of advisory services for the citizens has been published. With a fund of 262,500 US dollars, the Swiss government will, through the Swiss PRO program, support the local self-governmental units (SGU) to set up citizen advisory services aimed at gaining better access to the rights for at least 5,000 citizens coming from vulnerable groups.

The public call will last until April 16, 2019, and up to 12 project proposals of SGUs, which are worth from 15,100 to 18,875 US dollars, will be supported within it.

Eligible to participate in the public call are the local self-governmental units from 99 SGUs that are covered by the program and that belong to the second, third and fourth group of the level of development, which do not have an established unit for providing free or advisory legal assistance.

Inter-municipal cooperation is encouraged.

The selected SGUs with the best project proposals will, besides the grants for the establishment of the Advisory Services for the Citizens, also receive technical assistance in the form of a methodology for the operation of the Advisory Service and keeping records of the users.

For further information on the call itself, the criteria for selecting the users and applying, as well as on the necessary documentation for applying, please visit www.swisspro.org.rs.

In order to familiarize the interested SGUs with details of the support program - from applying and participating in the public call, through project selection criteria, to grants - the Swiss PRO program will organize info sessions across the country in the period from March 25 to April 3, 2019. The public will be notified in a timely manner about the locations and times of the info sessions.
