CALL FOR EXAMPLES OF SUCCESSFUL PROJECT ACTIVITIES ACHIEVED AS PART OF CLASSES IN CIVIC EDUCATION IN PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS (Deadline: January 15, 2021)

28. December 2020.

The Institute for the Advancement of Education, as part of the project "Support to the Reform of Civic Education", issued a call for the selection of examples of successful project activities undertaken as part of classes in civic education in primary and secondary schools. The project is part of the Joint Regional Program "Dialogue for the Future: Promoting Dialogue and Social Cohesion in, and between, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia", implemented by the UNDP, the UNICEF and the UNESCO, and funded by the UN Peace-Building Fund (UN PBF).

The said examples are various project activities that were carried out within the classes in civic education in primary and secondary school, and were distinguished by the topic, method of work, achieved effects or some other criterion of success. Next year will be 20 years since civic education has been realized in our schools, and it is necessary for many good examples of work with students to become visible and an inspiration to other teachers. The call refers to project activities because they are an integral part of both old and new civic education curricula and are an important segment of work with students on the development of civic activism and competence for responsible living in a democratic society. The project was chosen as a form of work because its implementation provides significant support for the development of other interdisciplinary competencies, such as learning, cooperation, communication, problem solving, data handling, entrepreneurship or digital competencies.

The call is open until January 15, 2021.

Primary and secondary schools have the right to participate in the call. An institution can submit a few examples, but with separate application forms.

The text of the call, the application form and the instructions for filling in the form are available on zuov.gov.rs.

The received applications will be reviewed by the commission set up by the Institute. The results will be published on the website of the Institute on February 15, 2021. The selected works will be included in the database of civic education projects. The most successful examples will be publicly presented in March 2021 in Belgrade.

The contact person for any questions related to the call is Eleonora Vlahovic (eleonora.vlahovic@zuov.gov.rs).

More information on the call is available on zuov.gov.rs
