CALL FOR CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS

11. December 2015.

As part of the project "Independent Institutions Closer to the Citizens", the implementation of which is supported by the US Embassy in Belgrade, the “Civic Initiatives” NGO issued a call for civil society organizations.

The project is aimed at developing a network of 10 contact organizations for three independent institutions (the Ombudsman, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection and the Commissioner for Equality) for the purpose of improving the links between these institutions and citizens at the local level. The network of contact organizations will improve the capacity of independent institutions through the development of platforms of local organizations in order to better respond to the violations of the rights and needs of citizens in local communities.

As part of the project "Independent Institutions Closer to the Citizens", a two days’ training will be organized in January for the selected organizations for the purpose of obtaining more information on the opportunities for bringing the work of independent institutions closer to citizens at the local level. Subsequently, in cooperation with the organizations, visits of the Ombudsman, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection and the CPE to the selected local communities will be organized.

The call is open to all organizations in Serbia, outside of Belgrade, whose activities are related to the scope of the independent institutions that have direct contact with the citizens and that have sufficient capacity to take part in the activities.

Priority will be given to the organizations that have their seats in the municipalities with the majority Albanian, Bosniak and Hungarian population, as well as to those coming from socio-economically underdeveloped municipalities.

The application form, which is  available on https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5JidIrxTq9jTl9PaEJjUGxxVmRNTnBwc1BGMXBEcU4zZkRJ/view?pli=1, should be filled in and e-mailed to petar@gradjanske.org by December 20, 2015, at the latest.  Additional information may be obtained until December 18, 2015, telephone number 060 3624 005, e-mail petar@gradjanske.org.
