CAAS'S CONTEST FOR CITIZEN JOURNALISM

20. November 2018.

Belgrade - The new age brought us new media channels and exerted a powerful influence on a variety of professions. Digitization of the media enabled an unimaginable speed of the flow of information, but it also contributed to the spread of fake news and misinformation.  Generations of young journalists begin and develop their professional careers on social networks, primarily on You Tube. Direct contact with the audience and accessibility of new media pose a major challenge for journalism. The Center for Anti-Authoritarian Studies (CAAS) wants to participate together with you in the decentralization and democratization of the media scene!

The CAAS invites all interested citizens to watch their You Tube course on citizen journalism, which is available on  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGuHXpjj2EY&list=PL9csqUp4rg22o0IzjbdNYgDAK7my5ctMR, and to send their contributions to   https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSck1RazlnIM8gtxumaRDB7XXwziMCRRLLp1dP-n9mAL1hKnFw/viewform

The lecturers are renowned Serbian investigative journalists. You will learn all about the challenges of citizen journalism and the overcoming of all obstacles through six lessons.  It is now just your decision that stands between you and your story.

Regardless of whether you deal with local issues, which are not covered well enough by the media, or have exclusive inside information, or want to show a case of violation of human rights and freedoms, you, now, have the opportunity to reach a wider audience.

Record a short video clip by your mobile phone and tell your story!

The best contributions will be shown at a conference on media freedom organized by the CAAS on December 15 in Belgrade, while the best of all shown video clips, in the opinion of the jury, will be financially rewarded.

You may send your video clips to
