BUJANOVACKA SPA FLOODED

Bujanovac - Due to a heavy rainfall in the night between Wednesday and Thursday, around ten households in the Bujanovac area were flooded, while all members of the said households were evacuated.

Because of the spilling over of the Jasenicki stream, the most difficult situation is in Bujanovac Spa and the village of Levosoje, where the water penetrated into the cellars of the houses.

Ali Aslani from the civil protection office in the municipality of Bujanovac says that the situation in Levosoje is now under control, but that the situation in Bujanovac Spa remains alarming, where water is still gushing into the courtyards and ground-level portions of residential buildings.

“Cellars are under water because in 12 hours 40 liters of rain fell per square meter in the area of Bujanovac. One family was evacuated from a residential building that was under water. Teams for assessing the damage are in the field and they’re visiting the flooded population. Ten families were under water during the night”, said Mr. Aslani.
