BUJANOVAC WOMAN POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS

Bujanovac - The result of a coronavirus test in a 77-year old woman from Bujanovac is positive, which makes this is the third case of covid-19 in the municipality of Bujanovac, said Dr. Lela Jovanovic, the Head of the Bujanovac Health Center.

“We received confirmation that the result was positive. The woman is in the hospital in Vranje and according to the information I have, her medical condition is stable. Contact research and the imposition of self-isolation measures on the woman’s household members will now be conducted by the Vranje Epidemiological Office in accordance with the procedure”, Dr. Jovanovic said.

The son of the patient, aged 47, was admitted to the hospital in Vranje with symptoms of the coronarvirus, but the result of his sample is still unknown.

“I'm not optimistic that the outcome of the test could be different from his mother’s one”, Dr. Jovanovic said.

Before the most recent case, two coronavirus infections were registered in the municipality of Bujanovac: in a 74-year-old woman from the village of Nesalace, who passed away at the Clinical Center in Niš, and in a 55-year old male resident of Bujanovac, who is being treated at the Infectious Diseases Ward in Vranje.

The test result of a man who was declared a suspicious case late last week is still awaited.
