BUJANOVAC OBSERVED THE MUNICIPALITY DAY, THE AUTHORITIES SATISFIED WITH THE RESULTS ACHIEVED

Bujanovac - Members of the Municipal Assembly of Bujanovac marked May 9, the Day of the Municipality, by holding an official session on that day.

On that occasion, Mayor Saip Kamberi said that Bujanovac was a multiethnic environment and that it should remain as such, as well as that it should develop in the spirit of European values.

Summing up the results of the local self-government, Deputy Mayor Stojanca Arsic said that "a lot has been done so far," but that more needed to be done and better results achieved in the future.

Miodrag Milkovic from the opposition municipal Assembly group gathered around the Serbian Progress Party, congratulated the Municipality Day to the attendees of the session and reminded them of all those who had given their lives in World War II for the freedom of Bujanovac. He also wished the life of peace and prosperity to the citizens of Bujanovac.

The session was attended by representatives of the OSCE’s office in Bujanovac, the police, the judiciary and public figures from the municipality.

May 9 is celebrated in the world as Europe Day and the Day of Victory over Fascism, while that date became the Day of the Municipality of Bujanovac in 2002, instead of the previous September 7, on which the liberation in World War II was celebrated.
