BUJANOVAC-BASED ORGANIZATION FOR DEVELOPMENT AND DEMOCRACY ORGANIZES TRAINING IN ANTI-DISCRIMINATION OF ROMA WOMEN

Bujanovac – The Bujanovac – based Organization for Development and Democracy said that it would implement the project "Say NO to Discrimination", which will be carried out in several municipalities of Pcinj and Jablanica districts.

The project is aimed at reducing discrimination against Roma women and violence against them by raising public awareness about the social origins of violence and about Roma women's rights to a life free of violence.

The project will initiate a more active involvement of institutions and the setting up of joint teams to combat violence. That will be achieved by strengthening women's non-governmental organizations and civil society initiatives to prevent violence against Roma women.

The project will last for 4 months, while it is funded from the budget of the Government of the Republic of Serbia - the Office of Human and Minority Rights. It is implemented as part of the program "Implementation of Anti-Discrimination Policies in the Republic of Serbia".
