Vranje – The Regional Connection Center from Vladicin Han was selected by the Office for European Integration for one of the 13 best examples of the cross-border practice in the Republic of Serbia over the past two years.

According to Tatjana Panic Zivkovic, the Project Manager, the criteria by which the projects were evaluated included the impact of the project, the sustainability of the project results and of the partnerships made, transparence, relevance to the territory, cross-border impact, significant impact on the target group, the inter-sectorial cooperation and cooperation with the public and civil society sectors.

“Connection” was selected among 400 projects that took part in the competition or among seven cross-border cooperation programs. We are surprised by the recognition”, said Ms. Zivkovic Panic.

The most advanced regional training center in South Serbia, symbolically called  “Connection”, which means linking, was opened in the village of Kula, in the municipality of Vladicin Han,  in the middle of last year.

The project was funded by the EU, through IPA CBC program between Serbia and Bulgaria. Its value is about 450.000 euros.

Partners and co-financiers of the project were the municipality of Vladicin Han and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry from Sofia, with the support of the Centre for the Development of Pcinj and Jablanica Districts.

Apart from its availability to businessmen and its database in six languages, the initial idea to implement the project was prompted by the need to enable people with disabilities to attend training courses.
