AUSTRIAN POLICE OFFICERS WILL WORK ON PROTECTING THE BORDER NEAR PRESEVO

31. July 2020.

Vienna  - The Minister of Internal Affairs of Austria, Karl Nehammer, saw off the Austrian police officers who were going to Serbia for the purpose of  helping protect the border with Northern Macedonia.

Ten Austrian police officers will be helping their Serbian colleagues in the fight against illegal migration, and they are traveling to Serbia with all the necessary modern equipment.

Interior Minister Nehammer said that Austrian police officers would be helping their Serbian colleagues at the border near Presevo from the beginning of August.

By the way, this is not the first time that Austria has helped Serbia protect its border.

In 2017, the then-Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka sent 20 police officers to help their Serbian colleagues protect the Serbian-Bulgarian border.

Austria is also helping other countries protect their borders, so that in March this year, it sent 19 police officers and two police dogs to support the Hungarian police in protecting the Hungarian-Serbian border.
