The registration of displaced persons that are interested in returning to Kosovo and Metohija will be organized in four collective centers in Bujanovac during the month of May, said Siniša Kovačević, a commissioner of the Republican Commissariat for Refugees in Bujanovac.

Mr. Kovačević said that registration of displaced persons wishing to go back to Kosovo and Metohija would be carried out in collective centers by persons trained by the UNHCR, while the displaced that are accommodated in private houses, if interested in returning, may be registered in Vranje.
   
„The displaced that decide to go back will be offered newly built or renovated houses, as well as food, which the UNHCR would distribute twice per month,“ said Mr. Kovačević. According to an announcement, the UNHCR  shall register those interested in returning at the „Stara ciglana“ collective center in Bujanovac on May 18, at the „Proleće“ collective center on May 19, at the „Salvatore“ collective center on May 20 and 21, and at the „Dečiji vrtić“ collective center on May 22.
  
Mr. Kovačević said  that at the moment there were 406 displaced persons at collective centers in Bujanovac. Most families are from the municipalities of Gnjilane, Vitina and Uroševac, for whom the Republican Commessariat for Refugees provides accommodation and three meals a day, while it is beleived that there are between 1,200 to 1,500 displaced persons accommodated in private houses. The registration began on April 6 and it will be carried out at the following Serbian cities: Vranje, Niš, Kraljevo, Kragujevac, Belgrade and Novi Sad.
