APPLICATIONS FOR TRAINING ON DISINFORMATION AND THE TECHNIQUES FOR CHECKING THE CONTENT OF THE INFORMATION ARE BEING SUBMITTED (DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 25, 2020)

The Novi Sad School of Journalism organizes a training course on the deconstruction of misinformation for students journalism from Novi Sad, Belgrade and Nis, as well as for other interested young journalists.

Training for 15 selected participants will be held in Novi Sad on March 6 and 7, 2000.

Students of journalism or related fields or candidates working in the media may apply for the training. Organizers say that equal territorial representation of participants will be taken into account.

Participants in the training will gain practical skills in identifying misinformation and monitoring sources of false information. Participants will be able to identify misinformation networks, find an authentic source of a statement, story and claim, identify false accounts on social networks, verify the authenticity of photos and videos, and report false news.

The training is designed to provide participants with knowledge of the topic through examples, available online tools and experiences of journalists working on the deconstruction of fake news. Lecturers at the training will be associates of the Novi Sad School of Journalism and journalists of the editorial board of the Fake News Seeker.

The deadline for applying for the training is February 25, 2020.

The Novi Sad School of Journalism will cover the costs of travel for participants outside Novi Sad, as well as accommodation costs for participants from Belgrade (Friday to Saturday) and Nis and more distant places (Friday to Saturday or two evenings if necessary). Meals and refreshments for participants will be provided during the training. Participation in the training is free of charge.
